Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Officers then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any harm in relation with the incident," they commented.

City officials said they were trying "to solve the mystery" and have appealed to the community for details.

A senior representative said the incident left him stunned and had to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in five years prior.
